The MOC is committed to advocating for Carl Orff's approach to music education, an approach that uses speech, song, movement, the playing of various instruments, and listening.
This workshop series aims to create stronger connections and will provide even more support to music teachers from all corners of Manitoba.
THANK YOU to Amanda and Sean for an exciting and valuable day of
singing, moving, playing, creating, and music making in Brandon
with Westman area music teachers!!!
Amanda teaches kindergarten to grade 6 students at École South Pointe School in Winnipeg, MB. Her program includes Orff ensembles, recorder ensembles, and choirs, and her students have many opportunities to perform during the year at school concerts and assemblies, at divisional music festivals, at the Winnipeg Music Festival, and with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra. Amanda is a graduate of the University of Manitoba and holds an Orff Level III Certification. She is passionate about elementary music education because of the important role music plays in educating the whole child
Sean is the elementary music specialist at Highbury School in the Louis Riel School Division in Winnipeg, MB. He is a University of Manitoba graduate and is certified in Orff Level III.
